2005-2006 - Princess Wilderness Lodge - Denali, Alaska

Knoel Scott Duo -As Leader and saxophonist performed at the Lynx Bar and Lounge and Bistro restaurants during the summer season at the Princess Wilderness Lodge accompanied by Phil Cassel on bass and various musicians on the summer season roster.

 

2005-2006 - Fine Dinning and Super Clubs - Fairbanks, Alaska  

Knoel Scott Trio featuring Barney Mc Clure on organ appearing at Bobby’s Greek restaurant and the Blue Loon

Knoel Scott and His Jazz Disciples performing  as Quartet and Trio at Bobby’s Greek restaurant

Knoel Scott accompanied by various artists performing for the Fairbanks Downtown Association  in weekly circuit

 

1999/2002 - Sunoco Jazz Festival and Mellon Jazz Festival – New York, New York

Knoel Scott Quartet appeared as featured artist at the Sunoco and Mellon Jazz Festivals

 

1998-2005 – Clubs – New York, New York and Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

Knoel Scott BeBop and Beyond Ensemble recorded and performed original compositions and classic Jazz standards

in major city night clubs at Ortleibs, Natalie’s, Tri-Tone Lounge, and the Tropicora in Philadelphia;

LaFamille’s, Lickety Split, Showman’s Café and Wells in New York.

1995-2006 – Frequent appearances as special guest and featured solo saxophonist/flutist with jazz groups and alternative groups, including Yo La Tango, NRBQ (New Rhythm and Blues Quartet) and the Muffins

 

 

Big Band and Tour Performance – United States and Europe  

 

 1979-2006 - Sun Ra Arkestra 

Assistant to the Director/Alto Saxophonist/ Concert Manager/Featured on Tenor, Baritone, Flute, Bass Clarinet, Contra Alto Clarinet, Congas, African Percussion, and Dance - Toured extensively with the internationally acclaimed Big Band Arkestra throughout the United States and Europe, conducted music research, archiving, transcribing, arranging and notating Sun Ra’s original compositions; developed and rehearsed Sun Ra Arkestra members, collaborated with Marshall Allen in creation of new compositions and arrangements including ‘ Song for the Sun’ album, responsible for grant writing, stage management, production, and coordination, represented the Sun Ra Arkestra in print media, radio, and television interviews, actively involved in artist- in-residence programs, lectures, and master classes, featured soloist in the United States, South America, Europe, Middle East and Asia. 

 

1977-2006 – Active Member of Harlem Jazz Community

As an active and dedicated musician my musicianship has led me to working continuously with various organ trios and jazz legends in Harlem-the training ground for developing jazz musicians and the spiritual home for many of America’s jazz greats.  During this period I have hosted jam session, presided over the swinging rhythms of Harlem most popular jazz venues (Cotton Club, Baby Grand, La Famille’s, Red Rooster, Showman’s Café, Smalls’ Paradise, St. Nick’s Pub, Wells). Dubbed ‘King Tut’ by jazz fans in the Harlem community, as I developed a reputation for drawing such jazz greats, and guests to my bandstand as George Benson, Stanley and Tommy Turrentine, Steve Turre, Donald Harrison, Roy Haynes, Freddie Drew, Billy Fitzgerald (brother to Ella), Leon Thomas, Lou Donaldson, Ruben Wilson, James Carter, Etta Jones, Jann Parker (daughter of Charlie ‘Bird’ Parker).

 

 

1981-1995 – Bill Lockett Travel and Tours New York Jazz Cruises – New York, New York

Performed on Jazz cruises to the Bahamas, Bermuda and New York, participated in one of the early initiatives of organizing a Jazz cruise festival with performing artists Nancy Wilson, Joe Williams, Charles Earland, Freddie Hubbard, Lou Donaldson, and Gloria Lynn.

 

1987 – Harlem Renaissance Jazz Festival - Harlem, New York

Founder/Director – Initiated and directed Harlem’s first Jazz festival in over twenty years. The festival featured Sandman Sims-legendary tap dancer of the Apollo theatre, and Lou Donaldson award recipient, Jazz/Rhythm and Blues pioneer saxophone player.

 

1979-1986 – Composers’ Workshop Ensemble - New York, New York

Participated in rehearsals and performances of original works of members at the first and one of the last surviving New York City jazz lofts ‘Studio Wis’ (also named Chelsea Center for the Performing Arts) under the direction of Master Percussionist Warren I. Smith, founder of M-Boom.

 

1979-2006 – Major World Tours and Jazz Festivals 

Participated in over two hundred  major festivals worldwide such as North Sea Jazz Festival (Holland), Fuji Rock Festival (Japan), Newport,/JVC/,Texaco,/Verizon Jazz Festivals (New York), Uncool and Montreux Jazz Festivals (Switrzerland),  -Marbella, Jazz Festival (Spain)   New Orleans Jazz and Blues Festival , Chicago Blues and Jazz Festival   and  more.
